TECHNOLOGY/TELECOMMUNICATIONS
AGREEMENT
Agreement: In
exchange for the use of Belvidere School District's technology (computers,
scanners, printers. etc.) and telecommunications (internet, World Wide Web,
electronic mail, etc.), I and my parents/guardians accept the following:
-

use of technology and telecommunications is a privilege which may be revoked by
a teacher or administrator at any time for abusive, offensive, derogatory, or
degrading conduct. Such conduct would include, but not limited to, the altering
of system software, the placing of unlawful information; computer viruses or
harmful programs on the technology/telecommunications equipment. Teachers, the Technology Coordinator, and
Administrators reserve the right to remove files, limit or deny access and/or

only: the Belvidere School District’s technology/telecommunications equipment
should not be used for illegal purposes of any kind (i.e. selling, offensive or
threatening messages).
-
Belvidere
School District reserves the right to any materials stored on the technology/
telecommunications equipment which are generally accessible to others and will
remove any material which the administration, at their sole discretion,
believes is unlawful, obscene, pornographic, abusive, racist, sexist,
threatening, or otherwise objectionable. Users will not use
computers/technology/telecommunications equipment to obtain, view, download or
otherwise gain access to such materials.

technology/telecommunications except when authorized to do so.
-
Pupils
will print materials for educational purposes only to authorized printers.
-
Belvidere
School District does not warrant that the functions of the system will meet any
specific requirements, or that it will be error free or uninterrupted: nor
shall it be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, or consequential
damages (including the loss of data, information, or profits) sustained or
incurred in connection with the use, operation or inability to use the
technology/telecommunications equipment.
-
Pupils will
not copy information in any form to which individuals or organizations hold
copyrights without specific written permission from those individuals or
organizations (i.e. plagiarizing information from the World Wide Web, copying
software).
