Webmail Walkthrough

  1. On the left side of this window, you should see a list of links. If you do not see them, go to http://www.belvideresd.org. Your screen should look similar to:

  2. Click the link near the bottom, labeled "Check Email".

  3. A window will pop up, asking for your username and password. The next step varies slightly depending on the operating system your computer is using. If, in addition to your username and password, the window also asks for a domain, and thus looks similar to the image on the left, follow the directions on the left. On the other hand, if it only asks for your username and password, thus looking similar to the image on the right, follow the directions on the right instead.

    In either case your username is the first initial of your first name, followed by your last name. If your name was John Smith, your username would be jsmith. Your password is the same as your username. (You can change your password once you have logged in.)



  4. Fill in the fields as follows:
    User name: username
    Password: password
    Domain: bsd
    Click OK.

    Fill in the fields as follows:
    User name: bsd\username
    Password: password
    Click OK.

  5. In either case, you should now be logged in to webmail and seeing a screen similar to the one below.



  6. Two key features of the interface are circled in red above. The first is the new mail button, which should be clicked when you want to send a new message. The second is the list of mail messages you have received. Double click on a message to read it. As always, be careful when opening attachments: even if they are from someone you know, do not open them unless you know they meant to send you that file.
