ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS:


This year we switch our studies to ancient civilizations and then we will move to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance/Reformation. This is a huge time span and we will be working pretty hard. It is expected that you will use your increasing Language Arts capabilities to hand in quality work.
Again we will study geography, history, society and culture. The websites/sources provided below are only places to get you started on you knowledge quest. They are credible sources to get you moving in the right direction. Have fun using these sources to create quality assignments. These are the civilizations that we will be studying.

Internet Medieval Source Book - A comprehensive collection of information on Medieval Times.

Medieval World - This site (unfortunately cluttered with advertisements) offers information about the Anglo-Saxons, medieval warfare, monarchs, Normans, medieval farming, and literature. The site is searchable (one word at a time); the majority of the articles are very brief

Medieval Ready Reference - Use this site for general information about the middle ages.

Medieval Sources on the WWW - Collection to links to websites "primarily for Western Medieval subjects, with a few Late Antique and Byzantine sites." Sites are organized by topic such as online journals, religion and philosophy, witchcraft, women, literature, music, and more.

Renaissance Connection - Excellent site to introduce the Renaissance to middle school students.
