The Acorn People - Ron Jones
An unemployed teacher takes a job at a summer camp for disabled children. The extent of the physical disabilities is not fully understood until he arrives at the camp and gets to know his campers. The campers teach him that what you are on the outside is only a fraction of who you truly are. Some sites about developmental disabilities for you to look at and learn from. This is the site from the CDC which will answer basic questions about developmental disabilities. Check out this Medline site for more information.
A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens
This is ghost story written by Dickens where three ghosts visit Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas Eve. We all the story, sort of. Use these sites to help you understand the text.
