Grading System
Students receive numerical grades from 0-100. To pass a course and earn credits, a grade of 65 or above must be earned. A few courses are offered on a pass/fail basis. The grading system is as follows:

Excellent 94-100 Above Average 85-93 Average 74-84
Below Average 65-73 No Credit 0-64

Report Cards
Report cards are issued four times per year and will be mailed home. Halfway through each marking period interim reports will be mailed to parents of all students. All concerns about report cards, interim reports, or student progress should be first directed to the classroom teacher. Any additional concerns should be directed to the student’s Guidance Counselor at 908-475-6069.

Final Evaluations
All subject area teachers will administer final evaluations. Final evaluations will be administered upon completion of the course. Final evaluations other than exams may be given at the discretion of the instructor. (A student must take a final evaluation in order to be eligible for Summer School should the need arise.)

Withdraw Passing/Withdraw Failing Policy
Students may not alter their schedule during the first ten days of school except for errors in scheduling any of the core courses-language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, world language or physical education. During this time period, students with no schedules, including new entrants to the District, will receive priority in the scheduling process.
Only after the first ten days of school may students request an appointment with their counselor to discuss the feasibility of changes other than those described above. After completion of the third full week of school, only schedules changes initiated by counselors, faculty or administration will be considered.
