Technology Education is a problem solving course which centers around hands-on solutions to engineering challenges. The challenge could be as simple as building a "safer fan" or as complex as the design and construction of a truss-beam drawbridge which automatically opens and closes by computer controlled sensors. What is Technology? One definition of Technology is that it is simply a progression of attempts to make our lives easier. Accordingly, the "artifacts" of our culture have become so complicated that we are now alienated from their purpose. Hopefully, during this course we can allow ourselves to have some fun as we answer the central questions; what problems have we overcome by out inventions, and what problems have we created by our "solutions"?
