ABOUT THE BELVIDERE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Belvidere School District is a K-12 comprehensive education district. The District has an elementary (Third St. School) and a middle school (Oxford St. School) that educates the students that reside in Belvidere. The high school, however, is the sending-receiving school for three surrounding communities. Altogether, we educate about 900 students from four different municipalities. Our School Board is comprised of 12 members and three of those members come from the sending Districts.

Due to the relationship in the High School, the K-8 curriculum is clustered. The goal of the four districts is to articulate the curriculum so that all students entering the high school have the same exposure to curricula materials. The district cluster curriculum is based on the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) and arrived at through articulation meetings within the Districts.

The Core NJCCCS can be accessed here:

The goal of the District is to provide an education that is academically challenging and diverse. Character education is a component of the approach to education in the District. We hope to provide a comprehensive education for all students including vocational courses at Warren County Vo-Tech, numerous student activities and a very successful athletics program.
